When I plug my Garmin Nuvi 260 into a charger all I see is a small picture of a computer charging from a USB port. Why????
JA: What is the exact model of your Garmin? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: I purchased in 2008 and it is a nuvi 260 ref:17T76491. I just now changed the battery
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: It just showed the where to/ view map and the battery that shows charging
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Nothing yet. I was hoping you might help me out
JA: Anything else you want the GPS expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I would like to have the Garmin on and operating while I am charging in my car.

Hi there and welcome

It is saying due to an issue on the device it needs to connect to Garmin Express which is a program for the computer

You can install this via my link below

http://software.garmin.com/en-US/express.html

Once installed, open it and connect the Nuvi to your computer

The software will then connect with it and update it.

Do this and it should then work again
