Just updated maps and screen said it was successful. When installed in auto it said maps are locked and can't use .
JA: What's the make/model of your GPS unit? How old is it?
Customer: Nuvi 2597LMT purchased 31 may 16
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Updated maps and then problem started.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: none
JA: Anything else you want the gps expert to know before I connect you?

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your device.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) What program was used to update the device?

2) When the update was finished, did you exit the program AND then "safely remove" (eject) the device from the computer BEFORE it was physically removed from the USB connection?

3) How much time went by between the update of the device and installation in the vehicle?

FIXED IT MYSELF. RAN MAP UPDATES A FEW MORE TIMES AND IT FINALLY WORKED DON'T NEED ANY HEPL ANY MORE
