My husband drives a school van and one of his students

Customer Question

My husband drives a school van and one of his students picked up his gps and started checking it out and now his turn-by-turn directions with spoken street names are gone. we have tried to go into settings and restore to default only to have nothing changed. What can we do to get it back like it was
JA: Just to clarify, what's the brand and model of the GPS?
Customer: It is a Garmin nuvi 52lm
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I dont know. He was driving and could not tell what the student was doing
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: We have tried to reset to default on the settings and navigation screens but nothing changes
JA: Anything else you want the GPS expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no we just want to get it back so we can use it like before

Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your device.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) Is the device STILL speaking the directions, but just not giving out the street names?

2) Does the device STILL make ANY SOUND - such as "beeps" when going from screen to screen?

Thanks
