First, try deleting the cache files, then try uploading again.
If that doesn't work, try logging on to Garmin Connect, and in the top right corner where it says UPLOAD, click on that - it should then upload ok for you.

The cache files are the local files/cache/history of activities on your computer's web browser - clear it out and let me know if that helps with the upload.
Do you have access to a different computer that you can try using, to rule out any compatibility or performance issues?

I did not give any direction to remove the data, only to clear the cache files on your computer!
Ok, so you mean the data file for the ride no longer exists on the device?
Can you see the ride file if you connect the Garmin device to a computer?
Occasionally ride files can disappear without warning - when this happens it is sometimes a sign that the software on the watch is corrupt.
You should ensure all your other files are copied off the watch, then do a factory reset on it to ensure files keep their integrity in future.

Info is never really gone, even when deleted - an image will remain which can be recovered in 99.9% of cases.
