GPS Repair Problems? Ask a GPS Technician for Answers ASAP

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your device.
To help you with this issue, may I ask:
1) The AGE of the device?
2) WHEN this issue first began (or was noticed)?
3) What is the condition of the battery used in this unit?
4) Did the Master Reset actually occur - to where the device was cleared back to factory defaults?

OK - its good to know it has a new battery.
After the battery was replaced that the device reset, HOW LONG did you leave it OUTSIDE - to be able to catch the satellite signals?
OK - during that time, did you take a look at the "satellite page" - and if so, did you see ANY signal bars at all?
OK - that's not good.
Can I assume it was working well - JUST BEFORE the battery change - or was it failing BEFORE the battery was replaced?
And may I ask HOW LONG did the battery last - when left outside (assuming you fully charged it up before leaving it there)?
I understand. That is correct that the satellite signals are needed to display the correct time.
Just to clarify - when you say you replaced the battery, you are referring to the INTERNAL battery that powers the unit - is that correct?
OK - if the device quit working AFTER the battery replacement, it MAY be that one of the cables inside came loose - like the flex cable between the two halves of the unit.
Have you opened the device up again, to check those cables?
I understand that the unit is working - almost.
My concern is ANY loose cable - that could have occurred when the battery was replaced.
My FIRST step in troubleshooting this issue would be to take the device apart and do a CLOSE examination of ALL connections inside the unit. I would even "gently pull" on each cable or connector - to see if anything is loose inside.
Does that make sense?
What we are looking for is something that might effect the RECEPTION of the satellite signals.
Any question about "charges" or site operation needs to be sent to customer service.
If you believe this is a software issue, may I ask if you have attempted to UPDATE the software yet?
If so, what tool (program) was used to do that?

NOTE: As a "troubleshooter" of all kinds of different products, some that include software and some not - what I usually look for is "what last changed" - right before and after the symptom began.
So you MAY want to consider opening the device again and taking a look inside.
