My G3 range finder is not finding any golf course it says no

My G3 range finder is not finding any golf course it says no result found when i try to acess a golf course
JA: What's the make/model of your GPS unit? How old is it?
Customer: G3 bought december 2013
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: i replace the batteries and turned it on and that was the message
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: trield to re-calibrate the screen, erase old data nothing helps
JA: Anything else you want the GPS expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: It was working quite well until this happen

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.

Remove the charger from the unit and hold the power button to off for 60 seconds.

Release, then connect the charger and turn on the device and use it.

ok, please do the following

  1. Power Approach off
  2. Press and hold on the upper left corner of display
  3. Power device on while still maintaining pressure on display
  4. Release upper left side of display when Do you really want to erase all user data? message appears
  5. Touch Yes

Tell me if it then functions after doing this.

ok, do you have Garmin Express installed on the computer?

Company computer cannot install software

ok, it is one of two things, either the internal memory has failed (most likely based on the symptoms) or a complete failure of the firmware

To confirm this, you need to connect it to a computer you can install software on

Then install Garmin Express from my link below

Then run it, connect the garmin to the computer and if it says to perform an update allow it then see if it works.

If it does not say this or gives an error then you know the internal memory has failed

In this event, you are going to have to return the unit to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
