Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your device.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) The FULL Model Number of the device you are working with?

2) The AGE of the device?

3) Do you have any GPS retailers in your area - that carry a LOT of Garmin devices? I only ask because "time is short" - between now and Saturday.

Thanks

Thanks - that appears to be a Nuvi 200W.

Do you have any GPS retailers in your area - that carry a LOT of Garmin devices?

Or what area (city & state) are you located now?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Barstow ca, Thanks for your help. I will try going to garmin.com

Stand by please.

Garmin site MAY NOT be a timely solution.

OK - let me explain.

You CAN "download" maps for that area (UK & Ireland), and store them on a memory card (4GB or 8GB microSD or SD), and NOT disturb any current maps that you have. The link to the Garmin page for those maps is below.

BUT, some times when you go to purchase the download, the website will report that it may take 24-48 hours to process the order and add the download to your Garmin Account.

A MORE TIMELY solution may be to find a LOCAL retailer that CARRIES the pre-programmed memory cards for that area (or all of Europe).

So do you know of any WELL STOCKED retailers there - in the Barstow area, that may have the pre-programmed map cards?

Please let me know.

Another alternative - IF you can get 1-day or overnight shipping - is to order this card from Amazon. Once you have the card, it is a simple matter of plugging the card in, and TESTING that it works.

Amazon Search for "Garmin Scotland map" (click link below)

I have a link to a video that shows how to install and TEST these cards - on a similar unit.

Please let me know what you find or if you have any more questions.

Thanks, ***** *****
