OK - for HOW LONG has the device been charging before trying to use it and what power source is being used to charge it?

OK - may I ask WHEN you see the "map data not available" message on the device?
For example, does is appear IMMEDIATELY when the device powers on OR sometime later (such as trying to find an address)?
