It sounds to me as if your TomTom is complaining of connection failure.
Sometimes this is owing to a defective SIM card... but not always.
An irregularly occurring error 148 would not mean a bad SIM card. It would more likely signifiy that your connection is poor enough now and then owing to irregular interference or radio frequency noise (probable in any industrial setting), or that the device has configuration or software corruption, doubtfully (I don't think so. But you can try Preferences - Reset Factory Settings and re-configure both the TomTom device and your online account for it - after doing an Explorer backup of your device contents, perhaps.)
