My Garmin S2 will not shut off. I select Yes and hold down

my Garmin S2 will not shut off. I select Yes and hold down the power button. It switches back to Start Round.
JA: What is the exact model of your Garmin? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Its 2 months old and is an S2
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Read the instruction booklet. There is nothing in it about how to shut down the watch so I am on the website
JA: The GPS expert can solve this for you. Anything else you want him to know before I connect you two?
Customer: No so far this is the only glitch I have come across

Is there someone there? I paid the $5.00 but then was sent to a page where I was asked to take a membership at a monthly cost. I am not interested in that at all. I just want to get the watch working properly

Sorry to hear of any issue with your device.

And you try the following, and let me know what happens?

Press and HOLD the LIGHT/POWER button

The screen SHOULD go blank in about 10 seconds or so.

When the screen goes blank, release the LIGHT/POWER button, and let me know if it stays blank.

NOTE: The device should be DISCONNECTED from the charger clip when you do this.
