This can be pretty difficult to do correctly. What I would do is start the process again, but also reformat the device:
reformat again, and just make one Garmin folder, then copy over only the following:fs_image.verGarminDevice.xmlgmapbmap.imggmapbmap.sum
The format must be FAT32.
That should get you to the basic booting again so that you can run GarminCure3. If not, or if you still have questions, please let me know.
Yes, the GPS.
That is going to be a problem. Without it getting that far, there is no way to flash anything to it.
Have you tried Garmin's method for programming the device by SD card?
OK. Let me know how you make out.
What about the garmin software from SD card? Did that work?
I haven't been sitting here since 11AM... just a strange coincidence that I happened to be sitting right here just no when you replied again.
It makes me look extremely attentive :-)
Ug... I was hoping that would bring it back to normal.
Give you normal baseline from which to start.
That GCD file, on the SD card, should have gone through and installed the firmware on the device.
What about Garmin Express? Do you have Garmin Express?
You can also use Garmin Express with GCD files to install the OS.
I understand you are trying to get garminecure to work, but I'm thinking of other ways you may be able to get your particular device up and running again... I'm assuming that's the ultimate goal.
Garminecure doesn't always work.
But on certain models, the original firmware does.
Have you tried the steps with the garmin webupdater?
Or... it won't connect at all right now, will it... not even as a drive?
If you could access it as drive, you could probably get it to be recognized by web updater by removing the garmindevice.xml files, deleting the voice files, and booting.
I'm going to have to sleep on this to see if we can do something different.
Right now, what does it do... try to boot up into garmin cure and hang?
