To help you with this issue, may I ask:1) Can you reconfirm the Model Number of the device you are working with (it looks like you may have an extra number in there)?2) The AGE of the device (is it brand new)?
I didn't see a response back here on this page, but I believe the model you MAY have meant to send is "Nuvi 2699-D". If that is the case, I have the step-by-step instructions for changing the TEXT language of the device below.
To change the text language, follow the steps below:
The device should now be in the selected text language
That should get you back to English.
