My Magellan Roadmate 5230T-LM stop working all I get a black screen?

First thing, lets focus on the power switch. Is it a push button, or do you have to slide your power switch?

Lets try this as a first step.

Push the power button in and hold it for 2 minutes. That should force a reset. Once complete. Do you see any flashes, or signs of life on the screen?

I GOT THE THE TITLE MAGELLAN ON THE GPS SCREEN. usb connected - the usb has been connected to the computer. please follow instructions from PC application for updating maps or software.

To get started, I need to know what type of computer you're using.

Windows XP, Widows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Or a Mac.

If it's a Mac, please check the OSX version as follows.

Click the apple sign at the top left of your screen, then click about this mac. And then where it says version, send that to me as a reply.

Download and install the magellan content manager software from t his link

http://www.magellangps.com/contentmanager

Once downloaded and installed. Disconnect your magellan then reconnect it. The software should pick it up and ask you to install updates.

If not, turn the magellan off and on.

Once updated, it should be working again.
