I own a Magellan Roadmate. Is is in a loop saying on the screen "dEVICE NEEDS TO BE RESTARTEDE TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE...PLEASE WAIT WHILE YOUR DATA IS SAVED".
THNE IT TURNS OFF, RESTARTS AND SHOWS THE SAME MESSAGE.

The screen "device needs to be restarted to increase performance." is a known problem with this device.

To rule out a software fix, you can download the latest software from Magellan using the content manager software from the following link :
http://bitli.es/whWyoO

If that does not correct the problem, Magellan will repair or replace the unit at no charge.

You will first have to get a return authorization number from Magellan.
