May I ask:
1) The FULL Make & Model Number of the device you are working with?
2) The AGE of the device?
3) WHEN this issue first began?

May I ask WHEN this device was last SUCCESSFULLY used?

I will also want you to take a look at the Map Info screen, and let me know EXACTLY what you see there - if you can.

To get to that screen, start at the MAIN screen and touch Settings, then Map, then the Info button (at the bottom of that screen).

OK - do you see ANY "check mark" near the file name on that page?

Also, do you have ANY other text included, such as 2016.01

OR -

is there ANY letters after "Lower 49 states"

OK - very good. It does sound like a valid set of maps are in there.

So may I ask WHERE (approximately) you are and what (approximate) address are you trying to add (or find)?

AND

If you look directly at the View Map screen (without trying to find an address), do you see the DETAILED maps for your local area - such as the street you are closest to NOW?
