Customer Question

I have a Magellan RoadMate Model 5230 T It Is connected to my computer via a USB port.
On screen is the statement: Your smart GPS is connected to a computer I pressed the On button with the House Icon beside it . I get no response from the GPs. I have never used the GPs excepts to put it in my car and drive it to test it. It will show streets
roads and locations. I cannot access Setup to program it I can scroll. The keypad is active.
What do I need to do to Use it ?

Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,
Sorry to hear of the issue you are having with your GPS.
May I ask:
1) The AGE of your device?
2) Are you trying to update your device using the computer connection?
Thanks
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The device was purchased on Aug 15 2014 It is still in Waranty I am just trying to get it so I can progam it for places I want to go. I have owned five different GPs models over a span of many years. I am very familiar with the process

Hi again and thanks for that information.
OK - does the device still operate properly when NOT connected to the computer - either when connected in the vehicle OR when running on the internal battery alone?
Thanks
