Hello & Welcome, Sorry to hear of the issue you are having with your Forerunner. May I ask the AGE of the device and WHEN this issue was first noticed? May I also ask WHEN the device was last successfully used? Thanks

I have been injured for several months...so I would say I last used it in March. The device is about 2 years old

OK - can you tell me HOW LONG you had the device connected to the charger clip, and powered ON computer?

AND - did you have ANY indication that it was charging when you connected it to power?

It's been attached to the computer for probably 45 minutes

So what should I try doing?

OK - IF you still have the AC charger available, here is what I would do - as a first step.1) Remove the charger clip and CLEAN (with alcohol & q-tips) ALL contacts (on watch AND the charging clip).2) While cleaning the charging clip contact, CLOSELY examine the contacts - to make sure they "move" up and down a bit, and about the same distance.Reference Video Here --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYSe_O8jGugBut do NOT "oil" the charge clip contacts just yet. 3) After cleaning, connect the charging clip to the supplied AC power adapter (if available) and leave it on the charge for AT LEAST 30-60 minutes.NOTE: If AC charge is not available, increase the charge time to 60 minutes plus. Please give these things a try and let me know what you find - especially about the "springiness" of the charging clip contacts. Thanks, ***** *****

I had already tried wall-charging it for well over an hour...I'm not sure the wall charger is the issue

That's fine. Just as long as you try DIFFERENT power sources - and that cleaning and CHECKING of the contacts.

I have heard of batteries going bad - in only a couple of years. But let me check my notes and see if I have anything else that may be done.Can I assume the screen is BLANK, or do you have anything on the screen?

The screen is blank--it appears that there may be a black circle on the outside of the screen, but that is it. No beeps, no changing of the screen whatsoever

OK - please do that cleaning and examine - if you have not done that already. Below I have my notes about "resets" of this device, so you may want to check that you have done these things EXACTLY was noted (and in the sequence mentioned). ===========================Soft Reset===========================If a Forerunner 610/620 is having power issues, such as not powering on/off or not taking a charge, a soft reset can be performed to unfreeze it. No user information will be lost by doing this reset.To soft reset the Forerunner 610/620: Connect the device to a computer via the charging clip Press and hold the POWER/LIGHT button for 20 seconds or until the device powers on/off Charge the battery to 100% Update the device's software with Garmin ExpressThe Forerunner 610/620 will now function as intended.===========================Master Reset===========================To perform the master reset: Power off watch (press and hold Light, Yes on prompt)† Press and hold Start/Stop and Lap/Reset Press and hold Light (three buttons should now be pressed in) After first beep, release Start/Stop After second beep, release Lap/Reset Release LightThe reset on the Forerunner is successful if the device finishes powering up and goes to the setup wizard. Try the steps again if the setup wizard does not appear.Leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data once the reset and setup wizard are complete.===========================Please check and try these things - Again if necessary - and let me know your results.
