Welcome to JustAnswer Ashley, my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to assist you. This could be a battery issue, or charging cable issue. But lets first try to reset the device itself and hope that fixes the problem. Please view the short video below, this shows you on screen how to perform the master reset for your specific model of garmin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_-zumajbaA Once complete, if your garmin still behaves the same way, we will need to consider replacing the battery. ( t his can be done at home ) You can buy a battery here http://amzn.to/1NDYg6s for 27$. Note that while you can find batteries for about 10 $ cheaper at third party suppliers, what I like about the battery I linked you to is that package includes the tools you need, and a great instructional video that shows you how to replace the battery. As long as you follow the video its a simple process ( with the included tools ) and its something you can do yourself and save on repair fees. For good measure, you may want to consider a new charging cord as well, as they can short out and wear out over time. You can pick up a replacement charging cable here for 3$ http://amzn.to/1HDREGT If you have any further questions or concerns you are welcome to respond. And good luck with the repairs! I strive to provide great service, and greatly appreciate a rating of excellent submitted below this answer when you are satisfied.. I always answer follow up questions.Dustin S.Senior Technician and Network Switching Systems Operator / Maintainer.
