Just updated the maps on my Garmin Nuvi 265WT and everything

Customer Question

Just updated the maps on my Garmin Nuvi 265WT and everything appears normal except that when I try to push the Address icon on the screen the screen reads "No Data Available" and it will not let me enter a new address. Also when I push on the "Points of Interest" icon I get the same reading on the screen.

I see four items Map Detail - Normal Map View - 3 dimensional Vehicle - Change and Trip Log -Hide

I pressed it and it just pings. Did it earlier and a couple pages of text came up but now I can not duplicate it.

I then pressed the ? icon and a list of map Setting came up

Ok reset the Garmin by pressing and holding the power button for 8 seconds.Then go back to that Map Info page.

I did that but when I select "Map Info" I to push on the ? then I get a lot of text telling me how to set Map Settings.

Ok, what program did you use to update the Nuvi?

We have a program down loaded from garmin which gets updates from time to time. The only think of is the Nuvi 265w

Ok, plug it back in again and see if Garmin Express gives you a message regarding the maps.

I plugged it back into the computer and it showed loading maps then the screen just reads GARMIN with a indicator showin it's connected to the CPU.

That's correct. That will be on the Garmin screen. What does the computer say? Still loading maps? It will take a couple of hours typically.

No, it's not loading maps. We did that twice today and it took over an hour each time. The first time we got an error message and we had some strange things in the text of the Favorite addresses which were not there after the second update attempt. ???

We have a Garmin Express Icon on our desktop that we click on. The map coverage is coverage of North America 2015.40

Yes, errors are not unheard of but it does need to run a complete error free update. And it will take quite a while.I'll be here most days and evenings.
