Mount Pleasant Iowa not showing up on my device
Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,

Sorry to hear of the issue you are having with your GPS.

May I ask the AGE of your device and WHEN you first noticed this issue?

May I also ask approximately WHERE you are now, and how far Mount Pleasant is away from you?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

My GPS is roughly two years old

I am at home

I am about 250 miles from Mount Pleasant, Iowa

Hi again and thanks for that information.

May I ask HOW you are trying to find (search) for that city?

That is, are you selecting a "city" search, or using some other method?

Thanks

I am using City Search after choosing Iowa

Hi again and thanks for that information.

OK - during our conversation, I tried a similar search on my device (Nuvi 650) using relatively current maps (dated 2013.40 - about 1 year old), and I had similar results (no matches found). I then tried with some OLDER maps (2009), and I did find Mount Pleasant).

Next, going back to the Newer maps, I used "MT Pleas" (not the complete name) and the newer maps DID come up with the results correctly - showing "Mt Pleasant, IA" on the first screen of results.

I also tried using the "Address search" and entered "Iowa", and when it asked me to spell the city, I only entered "MT P", and it immediately gave me "Mt Pleasant, IA" as the only "matching city" in Iowa.

Please try these same techniques, and let me know if your unit has the same responses. If so, I believe it is just the CHANGE in the map data from "Mount" to "Mt" that is causing this.

Please let me know your results.

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX
