Try connecting the Nuvi 880 to a power supply, then try powering it on again.

This indicates that the software on your Nuvi 880 may be corrupt, preventing it from booting correctly.
You can try updating it using the WebUpdater program to install the update: http://www.garmin.com/webupdater

I tried that.


I received a message that it was corrupt. But, no resolution.


 

Ok, then the software definitely needs repairing.
If you have a backup copy of the original software you can copy it onto the device.
If not, then you will need to return it to Garmin to have the software reinstalled.
