Garmin Express doesnt recognize my NUVI 3760 device. I try

Garmin Express doesn't recognize my NUVI 3760 device.
I try on few different computers and different OS but result is same.
My Computer is Lenovo T430 and running on Windows 8 64 bit.
What can be done???

Are you using a USB hub or is the device plugged directly into the computer?

The usb cable you are using, is it the one that came with your device?

Do you have a firewall or antivirus enabled on the computer?

Device is plugged directly to USB port on computer.

USB cable is original from Garmin and works fine, tested with other USB devices.

On my PC I use TrendMicro AV with activated Firewall.

OK. Does the computer recognize at all? Can you see it listed under my computer?

DIisable your firewall/antivirus and then try again.

Portable devices are accessable and in Device Manager I see NUVI disks, but Garmin Express software doesn't recognize my NUVI and I'm unable to upgrade maps.

OK. We can try another method of updating to see if that works. What are you trying to update? Software? Maps?

Software and maps. I have LifeTime map subscription and I can't use it.

OK. Give this a try. Log in to your myGarmin account at and then click the myDashboard tab. Select your device on the following page there should be a link for map updates. Click the link and follow the on screen instructions. IF it does not recognize your device please let me know.

No luck, but I discover something.

Alright. Unfortunately since the device will not be recognized on multiple computers via garmin express or the website itself, the problem is internal to the device.

You will need to call 1-800-800-1020 to obtain an RMA number for your device. Once you have that, package the device with a note that contains your return address, RMA number, and brief description of whats wrong with the device.
