Customer Question

my Garmin Nuvi 250's touchscreen isn't working. I have calibrated the screen which was off and now it doesn't respond at all to touch. How do I fix this?

Optional Information:
Brand of GPS: Garmin
Model of Device: Nuvi 250
What have you tried so far?: I was able to recalibrate the device, I have turned it on and off and held the on key for two or more minutes as one person recommended. Before I could at lease get back to the recallibrate screen, but now I get no response at all when holding the on key.

Hello!
I am Andy and I will be glad to help you out with your issue today. Please Reply to me with doubts / questions till you are 100% satisfied.

Please recalibrate the touchscreen on your nuvi, follow the steps below:

  1. Have the unit turned OFF and unplugged from power.
  2. Slide the power switch to the ON position and hold for about 45 seconds.
  3. A message will display on the screen: Press Dot.
  4. Once this message displays, release the Power button.
  5. Press in the center of the Dot.
  6. Keep pressing in the center of the Dot as it moves around the screen.
  7. Once this is complete, there will be a message: Calibration Complete.
  8. Touch Ok and the unit will restart.

The touchscreen will now be recalibrated.

Hi Andy, this calibration process never ended. During the process I got a message saying "Trouble Finding Satellites" "Continue Searching" Then I could answer yes or no and the screen did not respond to my touch. I had been able to callibrate the screen before, and it didn't help with the touch working. There's just response when I touch

Hi

You have rated : Bad / Poor service.

First, please note that if you RATE my answer 1 or 2 star, it gives me a NEGATIVE rating and hurts my record.

As it is a hardware failure, it needs to be repaired ... and no one can repair it remotely, please try to understand.

You are not rating the website or the problem that cannot be solved online. Hence please don't punish me for no fault of mine.

Kindly give me rating of 3,4 or 5 star ... only those are positive.

PLEASE let me know what more information do you need.

I sincerely XXXXX XXXXX to RATE this answer again ... and give a 3,4 or 5 only.

Thanks
Andy
