Why would our Garmin nuvi 260 route us on 2 lane roads around El Paso Texas when the Interstate was and is much quicker and no construction obstacles. Why would our Garmin want us to go downtown Kansas City rather than staying on the Interstate with no construction obstacles . We are noticing that the routes it is sending on in the Tucson Arizona area are different than it sent us on just a few weeks ago. The routes are much longer in time and distance. We have lifetime update.
Already Tried: Nothing so far
It's your route preference setting
You need to change it to 'Quickest'.
The different routes settings will take you on a different route for sure.
Go into settings and then navigation I believe, let me look it up for sure
It's Tools-settings-route preference- then set to quickest
We have done both ways and it gives us the same route info.
Ours is set on faster time right now. We were sent on a longer route today in Tucson and we switched it back and we got the same route
I've seen mine act a bit strange like this too, then it gets back on track
Try changing the setting again
Ours has been acting funny for the past 2 months.
For whatever the reason, the route is normal now but this afternoon it didn't work to change back and forth. When we were going through El Paso and Kansas City we were doing the same thing with no success.
Well, for what ever reason, I've seen mine do this too.
It's electronics and it does what it wants some times
Not sure why but it comes back and takes me right where I'm supposed to go
