I use a Garmin Oregon 450 and Nat Geo TOPO! software. I have

I use a Garmin Oregon 450 and Nat Geo TOPO! software. I have the latest ver that supports the unit. While I can import tracks from the unit to the software the waypoints I create during a hike do not come down. My old Garmin Mapping 76CSx does not have this issue.

 



Already Tried:
Re-loading the software update, turning track log off after collecting data and leaving it off during the import to the software, varying the mode of track data collection (distance, time or auto).

You have the TOPO version 4.5.0?

yes I do. Downloaded it 2X to make sure. You need that to be able to select the Oregon series as a receiver type.

If you have that version, I would expect it to transfer the data, but there must still be a bug with this.

This is the version that is supposed to take care of the bugs for downloading to Garmin

I don't see where that helps. I managed to contact Garmin about the issue. All data downloads nicely into their free Base camp software. From there I can make a gpx file and import it to TOPO! but that sure is a cumbersome way of doing it. At least it shows the unit is working properly.

I believe there is still a software issue that prevents the straight across download. They have mentioned it with the 4.0 version, but I feel it's not completely fixing the problem.
