I have attempted recalibration of my Garmin Nuvi 205 twice and it lapses back to not responding to touch correctly. Should I try again or just pitch it and buy something else. I really need a GPS... soon...Susan
Already Tried: The recalibration recs for screen dots didn't work nor the directions including allow to reorient to outer air method...
Hello & Welcome, Sorry I didn't see your question earlier. Can you tell me the AGE of your unit? Can you also tell me what exactly caused you (or the unit) to try to calibrate the screen? Thanks
My GPS is 4 years old and lightly used with care. When I touched the screen, wrong letters came up and that is when I started trying to look for adjustments.
Hi Susan,OK - can you tell me exactly what happens when you try to recalibrate the screen? Do you get the series of dots that you touch and then it says calibration complete? Thanks
I did not ever get any dots when attempting that recalibration method the first time so then I was guided to the next plan to reorient it to the atmosphere outside. I think I just need to get a new one or buy and iphone. Susan
Hi again,OK - I'm not certain what the "plan to reorient" the unit is about, but I can give you the instructions to TRY and recalibrate the screen. If this is the "basic" Nuvi 205, you should be able to use the instructions below to cause the unit to go into the calibration screen. ================================

The touchscreen will now be calibrated. To recalibrate at any time, repeat the above steps.
