I have a Garmin nuvi for my car. I used it just two weeks

I have a Garmin nuvi for my car. I used it just two weeks ago, but now when I turn it on, and restart it, which I have tried a number of times, all it says is a Map Update Notice, and when you push the OK, nothing happens...

Like it is frozen.

I went to Garmin Map Updates, but it would not detect the device when plugged into the computer...

Any advice??

Starting, re-starting, plugging in and charging completely...still acts frozen

We purchased this 4 years ago

I am not sure where the model number is, but here are the numbers on the Garmin: 10-R-023994

On the other side of the bottom: FCC ID IPH 01278

ALSO: IC 1792A-01278

We have tried for the last week, charging and re-charging, turning on and off, and all we get to after it states "Loading Maps, is the a picture of it connected to a computer, and then the MAP UPdate Notice, with an OK..and there it stays frozen no matter what...
