My tomtom was working fine and when I started out from my home I stopped to do an errand when I stopped and turned the motor off I heard a funny noise from the GPS, When I started up again it did start but would not move in any direction to show me which way to go and move along as I drove. What can be done to fix it? Mary

Please try to reset the unit.

Press (or slide) the power button and keep it pressed till the unit restarts.

OR ELSE, if you can find a reset hole on the unit (mostly at bottom), push in a pin to press the button inside to reset the unit.

Then take the unit to open sky for 20minutes
