Hello & Welcome,

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.

Can you tell me the FULL Make (brand) and Model Number of your system?

Can you also tell me the AGE of this unit and how long you have owned it?

Thanks

Hi again & thanks for that information.

I have been looking through the specifications and other detailed documents, and I do not see any actual "camera" function available in this unit.

That is, this unit does not have the hardware to actually take pictures of any kind. I do see a "camera" icon that can be used for searching for "Attractions", as shown below.

Is this the icon you are referring to?

Hi again,

Can you tell me if you have ever used this function (icon) before?

Does the unit "move on" to a different screen when you touch that "attractions" icon?

Hi again,

Sorry for the delay - my computer got disconnected from the network.

OK - what I would like you to do is check to see if you can still see the map "details" in your current location. That is, if you can see the details of your local streets, when you go to the main "View Map" screen. You may have to go outside so that the system can get a satellite lock and display your current location, but that is normal.

Also, please let me know if you have EVER updated the unit software for your device. This means that you would have connected the device to your computer (via a USB cable) and run an update program ON your computer.

Please let me know your results.

Thanks

Hi again,

OK - I would like you to try a "soft reset" of your unit to see if we can restore the function to that "Attractions" icon (the camera). I have the soft reset instructions below.

=============================

The device has a soft reset to shut it down if it were to freeze. Please use the steps below to perform a soft reset on the device.

To power the device off with the soft reset:

  1. Press and hold the power key down for 15-30 seconds

In some cases the device may even appear to be dead and it won't power on from external power. This can be corrected by performing the soft reset with it connected to a power source.

To power the device on with the soft reset:

  1. Connect device to a power source (preferably a computer with the USB cable)
  2. Press and hold the power key down for 15-30 seconds
The device should power on.

Hi again,

OK - if you would like to not continue, that is fine.

But please let me know if you change your mind by asking other questions in the future.

To not continue, simply do NOT respond, or you can request that this question be closed.

Take Care, Greg A.
