I have a Nuvi 260 W and it stopped calling out street names. I cannot figure out how to turn that feature back on.
Already Tried: I have tried turning the nuvi on and off. I cannot find a reset switch on the GPS. I have checked settings and find nothing for street names. The voice direction is activated but it does not call out street names.
Hi there and welcome to Just Answer. I'm Steve. Thanks for asking your question. I'm sorry to hear about your GPS.
Your GPS has many different voice files for many different languages. There are several 'American English' voices including a couple of male and a couple female ones.
Not all of these voice files have the capability to do TEXT TO SPEECH or TTS. It sounds like your voice file has changed.
So, from the main screen, press Tools, then Settings, then Languages, then Voice and select American Jill-TTS. Reboot the GPS and give it a try.

The voice works. It tells me to turn left and right and how far to travel but it does not tell me the NAMES of the STREETS onto which it wants me to turn.

Right, I understand that. Again, there are voices on your GPS that pronounce street names and voices that don't. The ones that do are called TTS voices for 'text To Speech'.
Go to Languages and make sure that the voice you have loaded is a TTS voice. It will say something like 'American Jill - TTS'. If your voice is not a TTS voice it will not do street names.
Check that for me and let me know.
