My garmin crackled, then I lost the lady speaker but the map was working. Plugged unit into computer to get updates. None at present, I was told. Went to car, plugged in unit, and it is dead. Hit reset, plugged to power indoors, and nothing. Bury it?
Already Tried: I bought another plugin for the car. Thought that may be worn. Nothing. Hit reset. Then plugged in to power. Nothing.

Power off Garmin unit. Press on continuously the upper top left corner of screen and then power on the unit by pressing once on the Power button. You should be prompted to clear all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press “Yes” to reset. If this doesn't work and the unit is out of warranty, you should replace it.
