how do i up date my nuvi 255wt gps
Already Tried: plug my 255wt in to my lap top with a usb cable

If you run into any issues, please send me a reply and wait to rate the service until we rectify the issue. You must connect your Nuvi to your computer first.. Then next, go to the link below http://www8.garmin.com/support/lifetime_updater.html click the blue download box to download the map updater program.. Then next, once the program has been saved.. Make sure to run the program to install it.. Once installed, run the map update program.. It should then find your nuvi device, and allow you to update the maps for free ( if you have a numpas subscription) If you dont have a numaps subscription, it will allow you to purchase a one time update, or a lifetime subscription. let me know if you run into any issues updating your maps.. ( or installing or running the update software)Please remember to rate the effectiveness of the answer given before you go, as thats the only way it shows whether or not I was able to help you. I coud not tell if my pc up dated my GPS . It kept asking for URL and did not know
At what points in the steps above, did it keep asking for url? Were you able to install the garmin updater program? Were you able to run it? Please explain how far you did get, so I clearly know where you are at.. Thanks!
