How do I download new updated maps?

Already Tried:
I have connected my garmin to the USB and that's it.

Is this a brand new Nuvi or one that you have had for a while?

Which model is it please?

Have had the "nuvi 225w" for a few years.

Ok. Great.

Plug your 255 into the PC. Then click HERE.

Click on 'Automotive' and follow the instructions.

You will have to create an account and register the Nuvi.

The Garmin site will 'look' at your Nuvi and figure out what updates are required.

Then you can purchase the map update - other software updates are free.

Let me know if you get stuck.
