Customer Question

I just received my Garmin GPS a couple days ago. I need it for an upcoming trip TOMORROW! Before purchasing my Garmin I talked with several owners and was told that the Garmin was the easiest GPS to operate. NOT SO!!! It is the most user unfriendly product I have had the misfortune of purchasing. I have been trying to use the pamphlet that came with my Garmin over the last couple of days to familiarize myself with it. It is mind boggling. I need a computer just to get the stupid thing to work. This thing has been a big waste of my money and, believe me, I hear about it daily from my mom. I NEED to get this thing up and running TONIGHT as I have to leave early in the morning. I am new to this area and not only do I not know where I am going, this state is very lax in putting proper signs up so a person knows which off-ramp to get off of. More explicit directions on your part would be most helpful.

Already Tried:
Name it and I've tried it. If it is a direction either online or in the pamphlet, I've tried it. I NEED to get this thing up and running TONIGHT because I DO NOT want to get lost in mid-town Atlanta and get rear ended again while sitting at a traffic light because I'm lost. That's why I bought your Garmin GPS. I have been trying to set this thing up for a couple of days now and am to the point of chucking it in the trash.

Hi there and welcome to Just Answer. I'm Steve. Thanks for asking your question. I'm sorry to hear about your GPS.

Can you tell me which model you have please?

Customer replied 341 days and 6 hours ago.

I have a Garmin 2300. I took it to a gentelman I know who has a 1300 and we tried everything to get mine to work. I am desperate at this point. If you can help you will get my highest ratings. I know it is getting late and I have to be up early and I also know you are working your hardest. My thanks to you.

Well, I'm a little confused.

When you turn it on, you should eventually see a screen with two main choices: 'Where To' and 'Show Map'.

Do you get that far?

Customer replied 341 days and 4 hours ago.

No I do not get that far. All I get is GARMIN 2300

Ok, hold down the button on the top of the Garmin for about 8 seconds.

This should 'unstick' the Garmin and you should then get the simple main screen that looks like this:

The Garmin interface really is the simplest one out there to use.

I'll be here if you need more help. I want you to be 100% satisfied with my answer.
