Resolved Question:

I have a Garmin nuvi 1490.
It won't charge nor hold power. replaced cord connection which made no difference. Attempted charging via the ups on computer and directly into car - neither altrrnative mad any difference.
Is there a way to replace the battery, and if so - where can one be obtained?

Hi,

In that case its unlikely that its a dead battery. But you can buy a replacement battery on ebay and replace it yourself (search youtube.com for instructional videos)

Other option that you have it to send it to Garmin for repair.
Please click here : LINK on instructions about how to send it for repair.
