HI and thank you for your question. I will be happy to assist you. With the unit on, hold the power switch in the on position for 8-15 seconds, this will reset your unit. Also from the settings menu you will be able to find an option to restore everything to factory defaults.

The update did not take. The screen on the roadmate shows an icon for a
computer, an icon of a USB connection, and the icon for the roadmate.
Seems that the roadmate is frozen. Also tried to reset to no avail.

ok turn the unit off and connect it to the computer and then turn it on.

Please navigate to the following from My Computer :

C:\Users\{your User name}\AppData\Local\Temp\ContentManager\update

in that folder you should see another folder labeled magellan roadmate 5120, open that folder and inside you should find a setup.exe file. Okay before running the file, turn your gps completely off, connect it to the pc and then turn it on. Once it is connected to your computer, run that setup file and it should reinstall the update.

Well:

There is no option to hold the on switch on. Switch is spring loaded in
the on position. Some of the info from the internet says to hold the
on-off switch in the off position for 8 to 10 seconds. I have already
done that procedure to no avail. I think it is time to return to
Magellan.
