Welcome to JustAnswer !! I am Andy and I will be glad to help you out with your issue today.

Do you mean the unit does not turn on at all ?

Or does the unit works fine when connected to car charger in a running car ?

Please do this and let me know.

To reset your Forerunner:

  1. Power the device Off (Press and hold the light button)
  2. Press Light and Lap/Reset to power the device on
  3. Select Yes on the Clear User Data? message
  4. Press the Page/Menu button to select ok and to confirm the reset
  5. The watch will shut off and power back on
  6. Proceed through the initial setup

Resetting the device will erase the user profile in the device and reset settings back to factory default.

If problem persists, do this :

  1. Power off the watch (press and hold Light, say Yes to prompt)
  2. Press and hold Start/Stop and Lap/Reset
  3. Once the two buttons from step 2 are pressed in, press and hold Light (You should now be holding down all three buttons)
  4. After the first beep, release Start/Stop
  5. After the second beep, release Lap/Reset
  6. Release Light.
The device is now reset. You will want to leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data.
