I have a Nextar X3-08 gps navigation unit, and want to know

I have a Nextar X3-08 gps navigation unit, and want to know if the maps can be updated? if so, what is the best way to do that?

Unfortunately, to keep the unit prices so low - Nextar chooses to NOT support all it's GPS units.
Only the following have upgradeable/updateable firmware and maps:

43-LT
ME
Q4/Q4-06
V5
V4-TV
I4-BC
V4

One thing I would suggest - is that if your GPS is stolen - the thief can use your GPS to find your home. Pick a street/house nearby that will get you CLOSE to your home, and use that address as your HOME location.

But no - there is no way to update/upgrade the unit you have.
