garmin nuvi 260 w stopped working. screen has frozen in the past, but it has not worked for 3 days. i do not see a reset button, or a small hole that would accomodate a paperclip to reset

We need to attempt to hard reset your unit.

Silicon Savant :

You will unfortunately lose your user data, but hopefully it will get the unit working again.

Silicon Savant :

To do this .....

Silicon Savant :

1. Power the unit off.
2. Press and hold (and continue to hold) the bottom-right corner of the screen while powering the unit on.
3. Continue to hold the screen until the "Do you want to erase all user data?" prompt appears.
4. Press "yes" and the unit will reboot.

i was amazed that i could reset!...now its showing garmin screen. not sure how long this phase lasts- been 2 mins so far...
