my instrument cluster is not getting power...code comes up on my tester U1026
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: won't reset, message says no communication with cluster
JA: What is the model/year of your GM?
Customer: 2006 savana 2500
JA: Are you fixing your Savana yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: have not tried much yet, am super busy with work and my mechanic is up to his wazoo as well... I understand there is a tsb on this issue
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: thats what there is

Hi there.

Are you sure of that code number? U1026 means the PCM has lost communication with the transfer case module. U1096 would be the code for the instrument cluster not communicating...

that code came up, weather or not its related to the cluster I did not know. thus my question here. The cluster is not getting powre and the tester unit says it cannot communicate with the cluster..ithe tester is a snap on solice used by a mechanic friend of mine

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the scan tool you mention. Can it communicate with other modules in the network, or does it just read codes?

i think i am just going to leave this one for my mechanic...I have too much work to do to take the time out on this. I thought you all might have an idea since it is supposedluy a common problem
