Customer Question

2002, 2500hd duramax, without the dual climate zones in the cab. The knob controlling the blend door was not working. I plugged in a brand new blend door actuator and still no movement. I checked and the blend door moves freely. I haven't checked today, but a couple weeks ago when trying to troubleshoot, I checked all the related fuses and didn't find any bad ones. Now, I'm out of ideas... Could the control unit in the dash (where the buttons and control dials are) be bad?
JA: Most vehicles have two fuse panels. Have you located both?
Customer: Yes. I went through both
JA: What year is your Cab?
Customer: 02
JA: Are you fixing your Cab yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Refer to the first message
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: ...I'm frustrated and short on time, lol

Hi there, I am Cam.

Yes, the control head in the dash is the most likely in this year range of vehicle. The head or module is common for issues and the mode is often the resulting issue.

Your best bet here provided the other functions work is to replace the control head. There is no programming, you simply plug in a new one.
The trim around the dash comes off with the wheel tilted down and the shifter in low, it pops off and you can then access the screws and tabs to replace the had.
