GMC Troubleshooting Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers
Hello my name is***** am an ASE Master Technician and I am glad to help you out with your question.
Use a torch to get the area red hot. Use a long pry bar and an impact to put downward pressure on the cradle while using the impact in short bursts.
You may have to cut the bolt and weld in another threaded nut.
I don't think there is a way to access the back side to hold it.
You could, but that will weaken the frame if it is ever in an accident.
Please reply to this if you need more help and we can continue this conversation. If you are satisfied with my service, please rate at the top of the screen. Rating does not close out your question. You have to remove the 2 rear cradle bolts and lower the cradle to get the pump out. There isn't a lot of room without lowering the cradle.
Maybe the bolt is cross threaded and just spinning
You can do that, I don't think there is room to get that out without lowering the cradle.
Do you need the factory service manual steps on replacing the pump?
ok, I can send you a pdf of the steps if you accept.
