GMC Troubleshooting Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers
Hi, My name is ***** ***** for the delay.
I will do my best to assist you.
did it run/start before you replaced the belt
do you have a spark on the plug wires?
will it fire with a prime?[a little starting fluid or some fuel into the throttle body]?
we need to know..to pin point your problem
tell me,do you hear the fuel pump in the tank come on for 2 seconds when you first turn on the ignition?
now can you check for a spark on a plug wire?
ok,,sense you have a spark and the fuel pump does come on..
can you tell me if it will fire with a prime?
ok,,if it is getting a spark,i would think you are right,it isnt getting fuel...
but, sense the fuel pump does come on,,this tells us you arent getting a fuel injector pulse
the injectors arent openng to let fuel into the cylenders
i dont see anything you could have done to cause this by replacing the belt
but, from the way you explain,,it sounds as if your problem may be bad crank sensor
