Hi Naim, My name is***** will be gad to help. If the shift linkage on the transmission engages reverse position and if the oil was burnt and discolored as well as black and grey sludge and metal at the bottom of the pan and filter then yes the transmission is bad. Let me know if you need more help
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Not sure what you mean by "shift linkage"

The lever or shaft that engages each gear position
Expert:  Daniel Wilson replied 6 months ago.
On the LH side of the transmission that moves when you shift. Make sure it clicks into all gears.
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I don't feel the lever engaging the reverse like it does when I put it in drive

Thanks for the info. Usually it is safer to do this on a lift so no one gets run over or hurt but if you can get the wheel off the ground and safety stands under it, disconnect the shift cable from the transmission and manually move the shift lever at the side of the transmission to verify it engages all positions. Was the oil burnt? Discolored? sludge or metal in the bottom of the pan?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Not sure about the oil, but there were very small bits of metal in the pan.

That is a bad sign of failure. sounds like your reverse clutch has a problem. You will need a rebuild or replacement unfortunately.
