Customer Question

I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 with 5.3 liter engine.
I am experiencing a battery draw down of around 3 amps from the radio fuse circuit.
I had this checked by a mechanic and was told that I needed a new radio .
is it possible for the radio itself to cause this ? or other components on the same circuit ?I would also like a wiring diagram on this circuit showing all components

Hi there. The radio can indeed cause this type of issue when there is an internal draw in its memory circuits - these memory circuits are fed battery voltage all the time through the 15A Radio fuse in the fuse box (see attached diagram.)Please let me know if you have any other questions.Best Regards.
