GMC Sierra 2500 HD: Neal, My name is ***** ***** I have a

Customer Question

Hi Neal, My name is ***** ***** I have a 2004 GMC HD2500 6.0l (Gas) Vortec motor. #7 cylinder losing compression. Removed valve rocker arm and valve push rod that was not under pressure. Replaced the rocker arm without turning the motor over and when I tighten the rocker arm the valve pushed down (under pressure / valve opened). Could the valve lifter have been collapsed and freed itself? Thank you

I am very sorry for the long waitso once you removed the push rod then put it back in it seemed the lifter all of the sudden was then opening the valve as it should be ?
