Customer Question

Hi, I have a 2007 GMC Denali Yukon XL, while driving I got a warning saying low oil pressure and to turn off the engine. Stopped and popped the hood and removed the oil dip stick when i noticed smoke smoke coming out of the tube of the oil dip stick. The stick was burning hot.
While waiting for the tow truck the battery died.

Hello my name is ***** ***** I can help. What was the oil level? How old is the battery? Was anything on while you were waiting? A old battery may only last 15-20 min with doors open.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Oil level was full.Battery is 3 yrs old,,so battery should be changed but I never had an oil pressure error before. When I waited for 15 minutes for the engine to cool down and tried to start it, it would start with a rough idle and the engine light on. Tried several times with same results while waiting for tow truck and the battery died.

If the engine sound ok no ticking or knocking. Let me know what codes are setting.
Most the time it is the filter under the oil sender. It gets plugged.
I replace the oil pressure sender and filter at same time.
The engine light and running rough can all be caused by the plugged filter.
Here is a link showing where the filter is located.

AS for the dead battery get it tested first.
