GMC Yukon Denali: 2003 Yukon Denali I am getting a signal

2003 Yukon Denali

I am getting a signal that the rear hatch is open and its not. As a result the rear wiper is not working and i cannot set the alarm. What causing this problem

There are a few things that are common. First is the wiring in the rubber conduit that runs from the body to the hatch.
- The wires can break from the repeated movement and then the signal will be lost. Open the hatch and pull that back, then see what you find, repair as you see them.

Second is the wiring inside the door to the latches themselves.
Third is the latch itself that has the door jamb switch inside.

Go for the wiring first, it is by far the most common issue.
