Is the brake drum part of hub assembly on a 1979 gmc k2500 rear wheel ?

Hello, at center or near center of drum, between the lug studs, do you see bolts? like maybe 6-8 of them?

there are 2 different types

dont understand.

With wheel off, you have the studes sticking off drum and you have a ring of bolts near center or I mean bolt heads? the axle bolts? correct?

thanks then yes,, you have to remove the axle bolts. pull the axle out,,

You then may have a tang holding the bearing nut you need to bend over. again, 2 different designs but have to start with removing the axle.
