Hello and thank you for trusting me with your question. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will do my best to help you with your GMC problem.Do you hear an exhaust leak with the engine running, or is it just more a matter of the fumes?
Only when running, I can hear some exhaust noise at the engine possibly, the exhaust system seems in tack according to a muffler shop.

A common problem is a cracked exhaust manifold. You would need to remove the cover over the manifold to determine if it is cracked. You would hear a ticking sound with the engine running that would get louder as the engine is accelerated. If it is more the matter of fumes, the problem is likely a leaking valve cover gasket. The oil is getting down onto the hot exhaust manifold and burning off, leaving the fumes. If you would like any additional information or have more questions please don’t hesitate to ask!
